What is Network Controller?

  • A network controller is a device that is used for communication which performs various crucial functions. Firstly, the network controller acts as a communication interface to a ProLon network over internet or USB. It can also check the working schedule along with the outside temperature readings that can allocate to any ProLon controller present on the network. The network controller is configured to work with all kinds of ProLon controller and also send email based alerts for selected users and can also record working logs for any controller over the network.


    LoRa Server helps to integrate with an external network controller to work with the LoRa Server API’s. This makes it possible to make use of an external component to schedule mac commands. For Example. The external network controller must implement the Network Controller gRPC service as specified in api/nc/nc.proto to work properly in the network. Also LoRa Server should be configured so that it connects to the specified network controller present in the network.


    One of the Network Controller like, SDN controller is an application in software-defined networking (SDN) that manages flow control to enable intelligent networking. SDN controllers are based upon the protocols, such as Open Flow, which allows the servers to imform switches where to send the data packets.


    The networks with controllers made it easier to install and much faster the adaptation of the network to the conditions of use, and particularly for very large spaces or with many users such as convention centers, large hotels, universities or stadiums facilitate the management of the wireless network and the experience of the users and make it easier for technicians to work that should look for breakdowns or change access points in the network.In contrast, the controllers make the wireless networks more static by having a single point to which all the devices are connected and where all the information must pass and make them considerably more expensive especially for small networks.
